NORTH CORNWALL 5K DAY

We’ve carefully selected 3 swim routes in the Mother Ivey’s Bay area, on 3 different beaches that will total around 5km. We’ll swim and then walk to the next location. This is designed to be more of a day out, than a competitive event. As it’s the north coast and more prone to swell, we’ve also selected a very nice alternative location / plan B. Event Price £45

LEISURELY SERIES OF SUNDAY SWIMS

LIZARD PENINSULA, SUNDAY 23 JUNE

3 leisurely swims of between 500-1500m on the east coast of the Lizard. We’ve picked 3 fairly off-grid locations and 2 swims we’ve never offered before. We’re also encouraging the group to have dinner, a few drinks and camp on the Saturday night.

ROSELAND/ST MAWES 10K DAY 2024

Swims chosen for this event are based on the days conditions. Meeting at around 9 - 9.30am, very likely in the Roseland / St Mawes area. We set this event up to be more of a challenge than a race, avoiding mass starts, tight turns around swim buoys… The 10km is broken down into 3-4 different swims, all based on the days conditions. SHORTER DISTANCE SWIMFARI EVENT

Tom from Sea Swim Cornwall had the idea for this event a couple of years ago but didn’t feel like the timing was right to launch it. With the popularity of wild swimming and ‘dipping’ taking off over the last couple of years and the fairly awful year most have had over 2020, now seemed like a good time!

The event follows the same format as our popular ‘Magical Mystery Tour’. We decide on a meeting point and time for the safety talk. The Sea Swim Cornwall team will have chosen 4-5 swims / locations that morning (based on the conditions), to swim over the course of the day. We’ll then travel in convoy to each swimming location, where we’ll plot out a route and provide water safety for each swim. Swims will be around 1km in length, with a half way point marked out…allowing anyone to choose to swim 500m (rather than a km) on any of the routes.

  • WE’LL ALSO OFFER ENTRANTS DISCOUNTED COACHING SESSIONS IN THE LEAD UP TO THE EVENT / THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER

*FOR THE ST MAWES / ROSELAND EVENT THE MEETING POINT WILL BE THE ST JUST-IN-ROSELAND CAR PARK (TR2 5JD) AT 8AM.

THE EVENT IS LIKELY TO TAKE THE ENTIRE DAY. ENTRANTS ARE REQUIRED TO SUPPLY THEIR OWN FOOD/SNACKS, DRINKS, TRANSPORT (WE’VE DITCHED THE MINIBUSES FOR 2021 AS A COVID MEASURE), A TOW FLOAT IS MANDATORY AND WETSUITS ARE OPTIONAL.

SWIMMING DISTANCE FOR THE EVENT IS ANYWHERE FROM 500M-5KM, AS 500M TO 1KM PER SWIM.
